My Approach

Why I am a Certified Financial Planner™ professional

I chose this career because my father enjoyed his work as a financial advisor with Ameriprise. I felt that I too could have a direct and positive impact on people – to see progress with my own eyes and be appreciated for it. A commitment to the profession and to putting clients’ needs first is what drives me every day.

What I do as a financial advisor & Certified Financial Planner™ professional

The financial planning process is one of discovery and overcoming obstacles to realize a vision. It is a two-way street involving open communication about hopes, fears and solutions. It can help cut through the clutter of everyday life, tune out distractions and avoid temptations that may get in the way of achievement. By providing structure, then helping with the financial decision-making process over time, I empower clients so they can spend less time on money matters and more time on family, hobbies, community endeavors and so much more.

I can help you plan for the future

Whether your goal is to prepare for retirement, save for that dream home or manage an estate, I can help. You may also be handling a life-event like marriage or the birth of a child. Most clients come to work with me for one or more of these reasons and are surprised by the depth of service and advice that follow. To get started, please contact me today.

My father felt honored to serve his clients as an Ameriprise advisor for 24 years, and I too love being able to help people every day when I'm at the office. Outside of work, my wife Robin and I are enjoying life with our son RJ, who is developing far too fast for us to keep up. Some of my hobbies include listening to music, playing guitar, photography, golf, swimming and other outdoor sports. Our home keeps us busy as well, and we will surely never run out of 'projects' around the house. I also like meeting new people, volunteering and spending time with friends and family.

Community Participation

I regularly participate in professional development, community affairs and networking events sponsored by various organizations, which include Kalamazoo College and Western Michigan University. In addition, I also enjoy volunteering with local food banks as well as Habitat for Humanity.
