Priorities for 2024 (Part 2)

Once you have done your year- end review , as outlined in the blog of Tim Ferris (found here https://tim.blog/2021/12/27/past-year-review/ ) then it’s time to fill in the calendar for 2024. Let me give you an example:

Some of the items on my 2023 list that I want to do more of are:

1. Date nights with my wife

2. Attending Charlotte Hornets games

3. Attending at least one Carolina Panthers game

4. Go to the Belk Theater for live events

5. Working out more

6. Having my vacations planned out well in advance

7. Having monthly lunches with close friends

8. Reading one book per month

9. Going deep in my faith-based studies

10. Taking more weekend trips

With a list like the one above, Ican easily map out some dates for these events. For example, the Hornets and Panthers only play at home a certain number of times per year, and this narrows the time frame down to a few months. Same for the Belk Theater. I can also go to the bookstore and look at some current books or studies on ancient religious texts that I want to go really deep with. But some of the other ideas might be more difficult: working out more; reading more; or planning date nights with my wife around our busy calendars. All of this takes time. But it is doable.

Once you have this list, start filling the calendar and if you need to purchase tickets or carve out time to review more and plan more, then do so. Get these most important times on the calendar. Especially the vacation dates. You want to have these items on the calendar, so you have something to look forward to and plan for.

Check back next week for more on this topic.
