Priorities for 2024 (Part 3)

Once you have some of the big events on your calendar like vacations, etc., then it’s also important to look at the things you need to improve on. For example, getting your estate plan updated . What are you waiting for? What is the first step? Ask a friend who they use and collect some names. Then make phone calls to them and interview two or three and go with the person that feels like the best fit. But take that first step which is getting the names of various attorneys.

Are you saving enough for retirement or college? Let’s get that checked on too. Ask your advisor if you are saving enough. You can’t give yourself advice here – that would be subjective. You need to have someone review what you are doing and how you are doing it. What’s the first step? Research.

Trying to work out more or lose weight? What’s the first step? Join a gym. Clean out your pantry of unhealthy food. Or commit to walking or running daily. Take small first steps. These small first steps can lead to dramatic improvements over time.

What else are you trying to achieve? What didn’t happen in 2023 that needs to happen? What are you procrastinating on? Make a list of this stuff and keep it front and center so you can see it daily. Make a checklist. There’s great satisfaction in checking things off a list.

Check back next week for more on this topic.
