To a growing number of my clients, retirement has become a passe’ term. Front porch, rocking chair, and a cup of coffee… while nice, it isn’t what I hear most are aiming for. The goals more frequently expressed are financial independence (the choice to work or not) and lifestyle flexibility. Once I understand a client’s objectives, my planning mandate is to distill the annual advice down to a single page of recommendations to help guide them.
