Community participation

Transcendent Wealth - Community participation photo

My family has been involved with Rockingham County 4-H for over 16 years. Our involvement began when my sister and I started showing/selling our lambs and goats. When I aged out of the program in 2014, we began a mentorship program with 4-H and Church World Service. During the summer, we shuttled kids from Harrisonburg City to our farm They housed their animals at our farm and came each day to walk, feed, and provide basic care. At the end of the summer, they would show and sell their animals to earn money to go towards their future education goals. The program ran for 8 years and wrapped up last summer when our last two aged out of 4-H.

Interests

-Personal fitness: I have been a member of my local Burn Boot Camp location for 4.5 years. I can often be found attending an afternoon class 4 to 5 times a week.

- Farming: I continue to remain involved in my family's small hobby goat farm, especially during the kidding months of December-February

- Reading: As the daughter of a retired reading teacher, books are built in to how my brain works. I enjoy primarily romance and fantasy fiction.

- Time outdoors: I am not picky on how my time outdoors is spent. Most weekends we try to walk/hike outside with our dog for 3-5 miles. I also enjoy spring and summer vegetable gardening.
