Operations director

Assist Franchise Advisor and team in the management and growth initiatives of the firm. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.
Responsibilities and time allocation will change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage activities that support business results, revenue growth, client experience and efficiencies in practice.
  • Manage resources to achieve business results, including revenue and client acquisition targets.
  • Create, manage, track and analyze reports.
  • Review advisor expense reports, Team P&L, budgeting, reporting/correcting errors, identify and implement expense reduction opportunities.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and provide performance management for direct reports.
  • Partner with Franchise Advisor to determine staffing needs; request, hire and allocate staff.
  • Conduct 1:1s with staff.
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 3+ Years Management Experience
  • Preferred Licensure
    • General Securities Registration (Series 7)
    • State securities agent registration (S63 or S66)
    • State IAR registration (S65 or S66)
    • Life, Accident, and Health licenses & Variable Contracts (FL 215)
  • Previous successful supervisory experience including knowledge of HR policies and labor laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to motivate team members to delivery results.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with little or no supervision and strong organizational/time management skills.
  • Able to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Detail orientated, strong math and analytical skills. Good organization and time management skills.
  • Process oriented and can work with a team. Proficient with standard business software applications.

This position will be an employee/contractor of an independent Franchise Advisor, not of Ameriprise Financial.

Intern

Help conduct the operation of a financial advisory practice with an independent franchisee of Ameriprise Financial. Assist in daily business operations allowing the advisor to focus on client acquisition and deepening client relationships.

Provide support across the business through a variety of different projects that may include scheduling meetings, preparing client communications, tracking new business correspondence, setting up and maintaining the client management system, and coordinating marketing events.

Responsibilities and time allocation will change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor.

Position functions:

Business Management Projects

  • Schedule and prepare agendas and forms for client appointments
  • Sit in on client meetings
  • Answer client questions
  • Copy and follow-up with home office on related issues
  • Assist the others in the practice
  • Assess the practice’s online and local presence and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Coordinate practice marketing events

Client care

  • Greet and extend hospitality to clients and document client communications
  • Conduct client appointment reminder calls and check-in calls on follow up items
  • Prepare correspondence for advisor signature
  • Set up and maintain client management system

Education and Other Designations:

  • High school degree or higher
  • Enrolled college student (Preferably Sophomore or Junior status)
