My approach

Eighteen years ago, I had no idea what compound interest was, let alone a Roth IRA or how either could help me with my retirement. It’s why I sat at my kitchen table with Marty Friel, my financial adviser, as his team helped educate me on what to do to meet my future goals.

Over the years, my financial team helped as life changed. I started out as a journalist. Got married. Had a couple kids. Changed careers to spend a Saturday at a t-ball game rather than covering a Big Ten football game.

Through it all, my financial team helped me navigate the changes and bring a peace of mind to my financial goals.

When looking to carve out a new career, helping others the way Marty and his team helped me was a no-brainer. My goal is to help clients achieve the same confidence and peace of mind with their financial goals by working with them –whether it’s explaining what a Roth IRA is or how compound interest is going to become one of their best friends – on what matters most to them.

Interests

There is more than one path to the perfect day. Here are a few of them for me:

  • Spending time with my family, whether it's making homemade marinara sauce and meatballs with the kids, to playing Frozen dolls with my daughter or playing catch with my son.
  • Relaxing in front of the TV to watch the latest sporting event, or even better an old episode of my favorite TV show LOST.
  • Having a morning tee time with clients, friends or family and then catching up with my wife or parents over drinks that evening.
