Ameriprise created the Client Experience Survey to give clients an opportunity to rate their satisfaction with their assigned financial advisor using a scale of 1 to 5. Each client has an opportunity to access the Ameriprise Secure Client Site and provide a rating. The client satisfaction score is an average of client responses for that advisor within a rolling 24-month period and is updated daily. There is no minimum number of responses required for an advisor to receive a rating, and advisors may have received unfavorable ratings. Client experiences may vary, and working with any Ameriprise advisor is not a guarantee of future financial results. Investors should not consider the Client Experience Survey score a substitute for their own research and evaluation of an advisor’s qualifications.
Forbes rankings are developed by SHOOK Research and are created using an algorithm that includes both qualitative (in-person, virtual and telephone due diligence meetings; client impact; industry experience; review of best practices and compliance records; and firm nominations) and quantitative (assets under management and revenue generated for their firms) data. Investment performance is not a criterion because client objectives and risk tolerances vary, and advisors rarely have audited performance reports. Certain awards include a demographic component to qualify.
