Community participation

I enjoy being actively involved in my local community. I believe that happiness comes from giving more, not getting more. As such, being engaged in the following activities add an abundance of joy to my life.

  • I am an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Canton, Ohio.
  • I have been an umpire for adult slow pitch softball since 1999. I am humbled to have been chosen to umpire many national tournaments across the country including the USA v. Canada Battle at the Border.
  • Our office actively supports the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank.

Interests

Family Time

  • Spending time with my family is very important to me. Before I was widowed in 2008, my wife and I raised four fantastic children. I am now the proud grandpa to 9 grandchildren with a 10th on the way!.

Music

  • A lifelong musician, I spend some of my free time playing the keyboard with my band, Back-2-Eden. We play many original songs and popular cover songs that get the crowd singing along at venues throughout northeast Ohio.

Hobbies

  • I love spending time outdoors, especially gardening and caring for my yard. A day spent outside is a great day!
