Community participation

Hour Children: our family participates in this program throughout the year, acting as a "host" family for young children whose mothers have been incarcerated. This provides the kids with a safe and supportive environment while visiting the prison, which can typically be located too far from their actual homes. Although heartbreaking to see these situations, our family has felt the positive impact and met some wonderful young people that should have a bright future.

Interests

Sports, cooking, nutrition. Having been a 3-sport athlete in college, and a father that coached football, sports have been a huge focal point of my life. Aside from the pure love of competition, athletics have also allowed me to maintain a healthy lifestyle that has continued to this day. Pairing that with my love of cooking has enabled our entire family to benefit from eating healthy and delicious food. Although I still cannot pass up a good cheeseburger, and there are inevitable limits to my "athleticism" as I get older, every bit counts!
