October/November 2021 Newsletter

Hello and warm pre-holiday greetings to you all!

I’ve got some very exciting personal news to share with you. My oldest son, Joseph got engaged to Julianna in October and they are planning a wedding for September of 2022. We are beyond happy for them and hope and pray that they have a long and happy life together. And…if God should bless them with children, Jenn and I would not be terribly disappointed : - ) It’s so nice to see young love in bloom!

From a practice perspective, thankfully, things are going well. We are continuing to grow and are thankful to all our clients and friends who have worked with us through the years and who continue to refer their friends and family to us. Without you, we could not possibly do what we do.

Last month, I mentioned that my son, Tony V., would begin to reach out to clients regarding meetings with children and/or executors(trix)and trustees. The purpose is to have them become familiar with us so that, when the time comes, they will already know who we are and have some experience at least talking with us. This initiative is ongoing. Please feel free to reach out to us before he calls if this is of interest to you.

In addition, you can also expect to receive a call from him regarding the following:

1) To add a “Trusted Contact” person to your accounts

a. This person would not have any authorization to act on your accounts

b. They would also not be entitled to receive any information on your accounts, including values

i. They would be someone we could reach out to in an emergency if we can’t contact you

2) To be sure your beneficiaries are in proper order

a. Even if you have existing instructions on file, it is good to periodically check them to be sure they are still in accordance with your wishes

i. If not, it is very simple to update them

3) Check to see if you would like to add a power of attorney to your accounts

a. Some of you already have a trusted family member or friend in on calls and meetings

b. You may want to grant power of attorney, either full or limited powers, to act on your behalf

i. If nothing else, we should at least have the conversation

Our goal is to do all we can to help you achieve yours. The more variables we can remove from the process, the higher the odds are that will occur. Please help us to help you and spend sometime talking to Tony when he calls.

Those of you who know me understand that I live every day with a profound sense of gratitude. There are countless things in my life that I am thankful for. As Thanksgiving approaches, I hope and pray that we can all focus things in our lives that bring us joy. There are any number of things that bring us stress and pain. We’ve lost loved ones and have endured 18 months of a pandemic. Some have lost jobs and businesses. It has not been easy. That said, it was never promised that the road would be easy, only that it would be fulfilling. May you all be blessed with happiness, peace, and much fulfillment!

I would also be remiss if I didn’t remind you to tune into my radio show each week. It’s 5:30 –6:00 pm every Wednesday on 103.9 FM, LI News Radio. If you’re out of the listening range, you can go to their website, www.linewsradio.com, and click on the “listen live” link.

Until next month…God Bless!
